Cinema Minima reader "George" has a question, to which I hope that someone on this forum may be able to offer an answer.

We have an interest in how film evolved from the format of VHS to DVD.

How did this process change evolve and who actually did it?

What were the advantages to the film industry other than the obvious ones like quality sound etc.?

Is there another format that is in the works?

Should there be a reference site for this information I would really appreciate it if you are too busy to answer the above questions.
